The HPECC is providing our boys and girls with a supreme start to their educational journey at home here in BGCS. Our students are enjoying increased confidence and independence, realizing growth in school readiness skills, and reaping the benefits of early, rich instruction and appropriate intervention in a fun, play-based environment through a nurturing approach with a family feel. We believe this strong start will lead into a smooth and successful transition to Kindergarten, and to ultimately culminate in a fantastic finish when they graduate from our fine BGHS!!!!

Preschool Enrollment Requirements
First day of school is August 3, 2026
- Students must be 3 years of age to attend preschool. Students may attend HPECC if they turn 3 by December 1, but they may not attend HPECC until they turn 3 years of age.
- Students must be toilet trained. There are toilet training exceptions for students that have IEPs or a note from a doctor.
- Beech Grove residents will be given priority registration. If there are still preschool spots available, we will open enrollment to out of district residents. If you are an out of district resident, please register and you will be placed on a first come, first serve waitlist. You will be notified if there is an available spot for your child by July 20, at the latest.
Childcare Packages
- 5 days a week (M-F, 8A-3P): $200/week
- 3 days a week (M-W, 8A-3P): $150/week
- 2 days a week (TH-F, 8A-3P): $100/week
Before care is 7A-8A and after care is 3P-4P and is at no additional weekly cost. Before & after care is on a first come first serve basis and may become full. Openings in before and after care are not guaranteed.

Our HPECC Mission
The mission of the Hornet Park Early Childhood Center (HPECC) is to provide a safe and developmentally-appropriate environment in which children are nurtured in social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth, while developing a love for learning and establishing a strong foundation from which students will build success in kindergarten and beyond!
Our HPECC Philosophy
Our philosophy for teaching young children is built upon developmentally appropriate practices and knowledge. We strive to create a loving and nurturing environment in which our students are successful and build a positive school relationship. We will provide our students with predictable routines, enriching activities, and a strong classroom community. We will build relationships with our students’ families and invite them to participate in our classroom community. We will use our knowledge of early childhood development and ongoing training to provide a quality learning environment in which all students are successful!
