It is with great pride that we share the Beech Grove City Schools Strategic Plan, a roadmap for our students, staff, and community. This plan reflects the voices of nearly 2,000 stakeholders who participated in surveys and focus groups, along with the dedication of our Steering Committee, which included teaches, leaders, parents, and community members. Working together, we can confidently assert that this plan aligns with the values and aspiration of Beech Grove.

Overview of Strategic Goals
  • 01

    Community Engagement and Communication

We will prioritize streamlining communication systems, building relationships with the community, and creating spaces for engagement. Our efforts will center on improving accessibility to information, ensuring transparency, and promoting active collaboration among students, families, staff, and the broader BGCS community. We will strive to build stronger connections and shared understanding of what is occurring across the district.

  • 02

    Wellness and Belonging

We will focus on fostering a culture of wellness and belonging for all members of the BGCS community–students, staff, and families. This includes strengthening physical and mental health supports, building meaningful relationships, and ensuring that every individual feels safe, connected, and respected. Our efforts will emphasize the importance of positive school climates, strong adult-student relationships, and environments where each person is respected and encouraged to grow, contribute, and succeed.

  • 03

    Teaching and Learning

We will focus on fostering a rigorous and student-centered approach to curriculum and instruction that students will be able to own and apply in a real-world setting (or non-school setting). Instruction will align with evidence-based strategies and be personalized to meet varied student needs. We will emphasize fostering critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, and mastery, while ensuring PreK-12 vertical alignment through specifically tailored resources, trainings, and collaborative opportunities for teachers.

  • 04

    Leadership and Development

We will focus on fostering a culture of leadership development and personalized growth for our staff. We will focus on developing educators who inspire innovation, build trust, and collaborate within the BGCS professional community. We will strive to create an environment where staff feels valued, supported, and equipped to lead and teach effectively while meeting the needs of all students.
