Enrollment Questions

How do I fill out an application for enrollment?
You can come by the Hornet Park Elementary School office between 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. to fill out an application.

What do I need in order to register?
Please bring the following to go with the registration packet you’ll complete at our school: Birth Certificate, SSN, 2 proofs of Residency (mortgage/lease and a utility bill), shot records and a copy of your driver’s license along with a $50 non refundable check.

How old does my child need to be to register?
Your child needs to turn 3 years old or 4 years old before August 1st to be eligible for that class.

How much does it cost?
It is $140.00 for the week.

If I don't live in Beech Grove, will I still be able to attend?
Right now we are only accepting Beech Grove residents; however, we are putting our out-of-district students on a waiting list. We will invite transfer students if our enrollment allows.

Is there assistance if I can't afford the cost?
We do accept Vouchers. Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) (this is for 3 and 4 year olds) and On My Way Pre-K (4 year olds only). You can find a link to CCDF on our website that you can fill out. On My Way Pre-K we are waiting to be approved.

Is there transportation to school?
There is no bus transportation for Pre-K, parents need to provide transportation. If the child has an existing IEP (and lives in BG) or the parent is concerned about development and the child qualifies for special education services, we will transport. We can pick up or drop off within Beech Grove boundaries- i.e. daycares, grandma’s house etc. as long as it is a consistent location.

First Steps
If your child is currently receiving First Steps there will be a timely transfer to the school district for an evaluation to determine if the child qualifies for services. If you have questions about this process please reach out to your First Step representative. If your child qualifies for school based services, they will have a spot here because the school is legally bound to service your child if you live in our school district. If your child does not qualify for services, you are welcome to enroll and pay tuition/voucher if there are spots available.

There is no before- and after-school for the Pre-K students .

How do I get my child tested for a developmental disability?
Please call the school 317-780-5050 and one of our Special Ed teachers will return your call to schedule an evaluation.
