With over 600 fourth, fifth, and sixth graders, our teachers and staff work diligently to get to know each child – their strengths, their areas for growth, their interests and dislikes, and their hopes. Recognizing parents and caregivers as the first teachers of your children, our team gratefully welcomes and relies upon a healthy partnership between home and school to help each student be their personal best.
South Grove Hornets, along with all in Beech Grove City Schools, commit to the following core values daily: belonging, community, diversity, growth and learning, and we do so TOGETHER with LOVE. In addition to wonderful opportunities throughout every instructional day to enhance their social, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth, SG Hornets are encouraged to explore their interests outside of the classroom as well. We offer YMCA after school programming on site and clubs such as Art Club, Robotics, Fitness Club, Game Club, Gardening Club, and more! At the conclusion of clubs, dinner is offered to participants as well. Many students participate on our athletic teams, including basketball, volleyball, softball, track and field, cross country, swimming, and wrestling.
We are grateful for the gift of collaborating in the holistic development of these young people with parents, caregivers, and community partners. As such, we offer multiple opportunities for families to join us for fun events and activities that bring our community together while celebrating our students in novel and creative ways. We also provide counseling and therapy services on site as well as other types of family outreach as needed.
We are thankful to be part of such a vibrant community where children have immense opportunities to grow and learn – where students are given the tools and strategies to own their learning. We are very fortunate to have so many committed professionals who make South Grove’s mission come alive daily!
