The Path to Graduation

    Indiana’s Core 40 is the academic foundation all students need to succeed in college, apprenticeship programs, military training and the workforce. All students at BGHS will automatically be placed on a Core 40 Diploma and will work to earn credits toward a diploma with designation.

    • Core 40 Diploma: minimum 40 credits
    • Academic Honors Diploma: minimum 47 credits
    • Technical Honors Diploma: minimum 47 credits
  • Employable Skills

    All BGHS Students will be required to produce defined outcome(s) based on experience. Students are required to earn 10 community service “points” per semester that they are enrolled as a student at BGHS. (Max number of required points is 80). Students will be asked to fill out a community service form to track their hours. These forms can be turned into the student’s iSucceed Teacher.   • Postsecondary Readiness Competencies

    Students at BGHS must meet at least one of the following competencies:

    • Honors Diploma
      • Academic or Technical
    • SAT
      • R/W: 480
      • Math: 530
    • ACT
      • English: 18 OR Reading: 22
      • Math: 22 OR Science: 23
    • ASVAB
      • Minimum score: 31
    • Industry Certification
      • Certification from approved DWD List
    • Apprenticeship
      • federally recognized
    • CTE Concentrator
      • Students must take 3 courses in a state-approved CTE Pathway and earn a “C” Average . Students will take:
        • (1) Principles course
        • (2) Concentrator Courses (A) + (B)
    • AP/IB/Dual Credit/Cambridge International/CLEP
      • Students must earn a “C” Average or higher in 3 courses
      • 1 of the 3 courses must be in a core content area of all three must be a part of a CTE pathway.
    • Locally Created Pathway
      • Approved by School Board of Education
    • Waiver
      • Students must attempt at least 3 of the pathways listed above, earn a C in all courses required for the Core 40 Diploma, AND, maintain a 95% attendance rate during high school.
